For us, giving back to the community is a way to express our value system. We value people above all else and using our available resources to help others is a big part of our business. Our team members truly care and take pride in making Omaha a better place. Not only do we participate in service projects and donate our time and materials, but we offer the local military community free snow removal and lawn mowing services through a program called, Project Evergreen.
In 2015, we celebrated our 20th year in business by creating a community-wide initiative to give back to the Omaha community called Commit20. We asked our employees, clients and the Omaha community as a whole to pledge and volunteer 20 hours of service in 2015. We developed a website to work as a tracking mechanism for volunteers to log their service hours ad we partnered with over 100 nonprofits in the local area to market volunteer opportunities.
We realized the impact that a small group of people can make when we ended with 900 volunteer profiles and 29,000 hours of service logged through Commit20 in 2015. Commit20 has made such a huge impact that it has been instilled into our core brand and business strategy. We are a landscape company who lives and breathes the concept that people come first.
